AM implants by Camber Spine Technologies receive FDA clearance

Camber Spine Technologies announced that it has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market its SPIRA™ Open Matrix ALIF device, a interbody fusion implant consisting of spiral support arches and Surface by Design™ technology. Also the sister conferences, 3D Bioprinting Conference, 3D Dental Conference and the 3D Medicine & Pharmaceutics Conference will be integrated into the in the 3D Medical Conference.

Towards printing personalized orthopaedic implants, the Prosperos project – Presented by Dr Chris Arts, Maastricht University Medical Centre, Department Orthopaedic Surgery at the 3D Medtech Printing Conference, which takes place on Feb 01 2017 at MECC Maastricht in The Netherlands.

Prosperos (Printing Personalized Orthopedic Implants) is a research project between 12 partners led by Maastricht UMC + in the area of ​​smart, 3-D printed implants for repair of large bone defects. The research has been focused on the development of mechanical and biologically active implants that can be adapted to the personalized needs of each individual patient. Design, geometry and mechanical behavior can all be used to influence growth and attachment of bone cells on the implant surfaces. If successful, this will result in faster implant integration, faster rehabilitation and a reduction of re-operations incidence.
