“Challenges of 3D printed drill guides in dental implantology”, Presented by Daan Brons, 3D InnovationLab

3D printed drill guides are commonly used in dental implantology in a surgical environment. The process of fabricating those drill guides consists of the following general steps: 1) imaging, 2) processing, 3) printing. These processes are a source of problems. Dentistry professor is working to develop biodegradable bone implant

With funding awarded from the Strategic Innovation Grant, Lobat Tayebi, associate professor and director of research in the School of Dentistry, has been working to create a biodegradable bone implant.
