Inkjet-printed pharmaceutical formulations for preclinical studies – Presented by Anastasia Zakharyuta, Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma GMBH Co & KG , at the 3D Medical Conference 5th edition, which will take place on 30-31 January 2018 at MECC Maastricht, The Netherlands.

This presentation will focus on printable formulations for preclinical studies fabricated via piezo-actuated inkjet printing. Herein, incorporation of 2/3 D printing into preclinical formulation routine, as a replacement of techniques, such as homogenization and spray-drying is aimed to enhance quality and repeatability. Further challenges common to drug discovery are addressed via customized formulation design. Results of particulate printing targeting inhalation, intratracheal and oral administration routes, as well as solid oral dosage formulations designed suitable for administration to rodent species will be demonstrated.
