Team Prints 3D Printed Pink Robotic Arm for 13-Year-Old
Kendall Gretsch, Henry Lather, and Kranti Peddada are seniors studying biomedical engineering in the School of Engineering and Applied Science. Sydney Kendall is a 13-year-old girl who had tragically lost her arm seven years ago in a boating accident. Her only request for her prosthetic limb was for it to be in pink. UConn Students 3D Print Two Different Artificial Kidneys
We’ve been hearing a lot lately about the possibility of 3D bioprinting organs, such as livers, kidneys and hearts. In fact, many experts within the medical field expect 3D printing to have progressed enough in the next ten years, to make all this possible. “How Do I Reach These Kids?” Build a 3D Bioprinter
After nine months of perseverance, high school seniors at Loveland High School in Ohio successfully created a 3D bioprinter. The payoff came as part of the capstone project for three students: Nathan Bryant, Cameron Spicer and Thomas Worsham. Their biotechnology teacher, Jamie Allison had a warranted emotional reaction when the project finally came to fruition. Even the superintendent commented on the revelation.
