“Added value of 3D Imaging and 3D printing in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery” – Presented by Dr. Thomas Maal, RadboudUMC

In 2006 a 3D Lab was setup at the Radboud University Medical Centre in order to facilitate the implementation of technical innovations in 3D imaging and 3D Printing into daily clinical practice. The general goal is to improve patient care and provide patient specific solutions.Especially the close cooperation between surgeons and engineers within the 3D Lab lead to fast implementation of new technology in a wide range clinical applications. This presentation will illustrate a number of clinical examples and will focus on the added value of 3D imaging and 3D printing in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery.

Thomas Maal (1981) is coordinator of the 3D Lab of the Radboud University medical centre. The 3D Lab facilitates and implements technological innovations in 3D Imaging and 3D printing in daily clinical practice. The general goal is to improve patient care and provide patient specific solutions.
