Biomat is media partner of 3D Medicine Printing Conference which will take place on Feb 01, 2017 at MECC Maastricht in The Netherlands.
Biomat.net is an organized and meaningful Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering communication resource for scientists, researchers, members of the business community, government, academia, and the general public. Biomat.net serves as a resource center to disclose news, data, and every other initiative related to biomaterials science and associated fields.
In brief, the “Biomaterials Resources on the Internet WebPage” was created in May 1998 and has considerably changed since then. In February 2000 it has become “The Biomaterials Network”, changing from the original collection of WWW links to an interactive source of information, where users could actively participate and communicate with each other. In 2016, Biomat.net adapts to modern networking by integrating its functionalities with social networks and mobile devices.
Since 2002, Biomat.net was selected for Current Web Contents, from the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI).
About 3D Medicine Printing Conference
The conference is part of the 3D Medical Expo, an event that includes a two-day exhibition and three other conferences besides the 3D Medicine Printing.
The role of medicines in healthcare systems globally is becoming more important. Innovative treatments become available to address unmet clinical needs at the same time that economic development and the imperative of universal health coverage become drivers of expanded access.
In 2014 it is estimated that the global spending on medicines exceeded $1 trillion for the first time. The amount is projected to reach $1.2 trillion in 2017.
Now 3D Printing comes in. It will have a strong impact on the value chain as the industry can start with low-volume production and personalized medicine, but also produce a wide range of APIs (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) on demand for use in medicine R&D.
